Fauna & Flora of Epekwitk / Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island (PEI) — known by the Mi’kmaq as Epektwitk — is nestled in the Gulf of St. Lawrence off the East Coast of Canada.

PEI is home to more than 1300 plants, and diverse animal species including beavers, eastern coyotes, minks, muskrats, raccoons, red foxes, red squirrels, striped skunk, weasel, snowshoe hare, Canadian geese, and ducks.
